It's Going to Be Okay!!

It is my day to be featured over on the Market Street Stamps blog. So glad you could join me!

So, I have had this idea rolling around in my head for awhile now. As I was making it, it wasn't quite coming out as I was looking for, but I still love the look that it took on. I will be doing this more in the future!

First, I took a piece of 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" sheet of white paper and stamped the Vintage Wallpaper background stamp on it. I then cut it down to 5 1/4" x 4" {I sometimes stamp wonky, so I like the idea of cutting it down after I stamp the whole image.}

Next, I chose the Distress Ink colors that I wanted to use, and in this case I chose: Milled lavendar, Dusty Concord, Tumbled Glass, Broken China and Chipped Sapphire. Starting with the lightest and ending with the darkest, I slowly blended them together, sometimes skipping areas.

{This is working with the Dusty Concord after the Milled Lavender}

{This is after the Tumbled Glass}

I then took my Distress Crackle Paint in Rock Candy and spread it out over the entire base image and ink, making sure it was thicker in some areas.

I am extremely impatient when it comes to drying time, so I sped it up using my heat embossing tool. I turned out kind of cloudy in some spots, but I thought that looked pretty cool.

Once it was dry, I rolled {not crumpled} the paper some to bring out more of the crackles.

When I was done with that, I used Black Soot Distress Ink with the blending tool and went over the cracks to make them stand out a little more. I then needed to use a paper towel to take of the excess ink {it WILL turn your finger tips black if you do not, as I quickly found out.}

{A close up of the crackle}

I did the same kind of blending on the labels for the sentiment, just left the top one a little lighter. {The sentiment is from Faith in You} Then I added the embellishments and voila!!!!
