Blue Eyed Beauty

I know this is a day late, but that is what happens when you are on vacation, and forget to schedule the post! So, hopefully you will all forgive me and check out this challenge from 365 Cards anyways! The prompt for today (yesterday) is I've Been Framed! Create a frame for your card, but not just any frame. This one should have a lot of embellishments in two of the corners. I happened to use a digital stamp, Ankhi, from our sponsor this week, My Paper Pretties . The flowers were just plain white ones from Prima, but I used my Copics to color them to match the rest of the card. The bling is from Michaels' Reflections line and I just cut them up and placed them where I wanted them. The buttons are from my stash, and the cardstock is from Core'dinations. The lighter purple was embossed with an embossing folder, and I just happened to like the back side of it for this project better. I hope to see you back later this week. I have actually made a s

I gotta quick skeedattle out of here, but I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!

Distress Ink Tutorial with Market Street Stamps

Hello! I have a great little tutorial to share with you. I have been using the June release of stamps from Market Street Stamps like crazy since we received them, and I just keep coming up with more and more ideas. Today, I will show you one of the newest techniques that I have using on cards a lot lately. {You can see a couple more cards that have used this technique here and here .} For this particular technique I used: Market Street Stamps {Candy Stripe and Grow} Inkssentials Specialty Stamping Paper Tim Holtz Distress Stains Ranger Archival Ink Ranger Heat It Tool I chose Mustard Seed, Wild Honey and Peeled Paint to make a variegated look on the paper. First, I used the Mustard Seed Distress Stain and rubbed it on the specialty paper. {I started with the lightest color and worked my way to the darkest.} You will want to get it good and covered because the stain really soaks into the paper. Then I used the Heat It tool to dry a good portion of

Happiness

Hello! What a beautiful day we are having here so far. Made a quick jaunt out to the Farmer's Market this morning. The hubby and I met my mother-in-law there so they could pick out some pickling cucs to start the pickling process today. I grabbed a Double Chocolaty Chip Frap from Starbucks and picked out some gorgeous flowers and a couple of tomatoes. Yup, it's tomatoes sandwich season!! Well, today is a brand new Saturday challenge over at 365 Cards . Today's prompt is Roll the Dice. Pick up a pair of dice and roll them to see how many embellies you get to put on your card! Stamped images and patterned paper do not count. I happened to roll the ol' snake eyes. I decided to make my own 3d embellishment with some patterned paper, punches and a button, then also added on the wooden Happiness flag. The cardstock happens to be some from the Core'dinations Tim Holtz & Ranger Distress collection. I used my Tim Holtz Bubble embossing folder with it a

Summer Bliss!

Hello all! Hope your week was a great one. We have been having some way above average temps up here in Ol' Wisconsin. I have been avoiding going outside as much as possible and hunkering down in the basement with my craft room and some Netflix. So today is a brand new challenge over at 365 Cards and it fits perfectly with the kind of weather we are having. The prompt is Fun in the Sun. Use 3 images, words or items on your card that remind you of summer and all the fun that comes with it. I chose the bright, glorious sun, rolling green hills and sweet fragrant blossoms. All of those combine into some pretty awesome summer bliss for me! Don't forget to give the challenges this week a shot! Have a great weekend!! Bliss Stamps: Market Street Stamps {Here Comes the Sun, Simple Joys}, Peachy Keen Stamps {Funny Farm} Patterned Paper: Echo Park, Crate Paper

Peachy Sneak Peeks for July!!

Did you know that tomorrow night at 6 pm is the release of the latest Stamp of the Month and Peachy Picks kits from Peachy Keen Stamps ?!? Yes, I know I repeat myself every month, but oh my GOSH, Kathy just keeps batting these stamps out of the park each and every time. And of course I am loving the new Peachy Picks kit, why wouldn't I? ;-) So, onto my sneaks that I am going to share. Usually I only do one or two, but once I started going, I had a hard time stopping! All of the cards contain elements from the Peachy Picks kit, but not all elements are in the kit.

Getting back into the Groove!

So, today was my first day back at work, and I am so glad to be back! I am so extremely lucky to have a great group of girls to work with who always keep things entertaining! I am busy plugging away at getting next month's Peachy Picks Kit together, and I think this will for surely be my favorite so far. I can't give away any details yet, but gosh, these are gorgeous colors!! Besides work, our oldest started her fitness program today for the sports season coming up at school. She missed the first three weeks because of our vacation, and boy, I don't think she was ready for what they put her through!! Okay, on to some more pictures from our vacay! As we sat and waited for Mt. Rushmore to be lighted at night, they had a wonderful program that honored all of the veterans and current military soldiers that were visiting the park at the time. There were well over 100 men and women who stood on that stage as well as one veteran from World War II. It was extremely tou

Vacation? What vacation??

It is so wonderful to be home! For the last three weeks, my family and I have been on a whirlwind trip out west. Don't get me wrong! I love vacation and spending that time with my family, but to be able to take a shower in something other than a two foot square box, that's amazing. Or, to be further than eight feet away from two bickering girls who have grown tired of each other on the third day of the trip, THAT is amazing! But other than the little things that make you miss home, it was such a wonderful and beautiful trip! I saw things that are so utterly breathtaking and did things that are sooooooooo out of my comfort level {and am completely proud of myself for doing them.} I am not an outdoorsy kind of girl, and I spent just about all of the time outdoors. I took so many pictures and couldn't even come close to sharing them all, but over the next week I will share my favorites in between the crafty posts. But now, I get to go back to a regular routine {not reall
