Chalk Inks: My version of a review & a Giveaway!!

I have been looking for some really nice chalk inks, especially lately with all of the chalkboard paper, paints and such out there. I know of three, so those are the ones that I will share with you. If any of you know of more than what I have listed, please share! I also want to put out there that these are my very own opinions. I am not here to sway you any which way, but to give you my humble opinion.

The Inks I used are:
Hero Hues Chalk Ink-Iris
ColorBox Fluid Chalk-Ice Blue
VersaMagic Chalk Ink-Aquatic Splash

I used each brand on a piece of white cardstock and also on a piece of chalkboard paper.
Here are the results:

Pros: I love the colors that they have out right now. Stamps very evenly. The pad is one of those with a fabric type top, which is a big plus for me. On the white cardstock, the image came out great.
Cons: On the chalkboard cardstock, the color did not show up very well. There are a limited amount of colors that they have out right now (hoping they plan on coming out with more).
Verdict: I will still use these, as I love how they came out on the white cardstock, but will steer clear of the chalkboard paper with them.
ColorBox Chalk Ink in Ice Blue
Pros: Lots of colors to choose from. Though not a fabric pad, it's almost like one of those really nice makeup sponges that are really dense. They help make very even distribution of ink. The colors come out really soft.
Cons: Again, the ink doesn't show up very well on the chalkboard paper.
Verdict: Would definitely use again, just not on the chalkboard paper.
VersaMagic Chalk Ink in Aquatic Splash
Pros: Color shows up great on both the white cardstock and chalkboard paper. Again, a lot of color choices to choose from.
Cons: When applying the ink to the stamp, the stamps quickly becomes over-saturated if not careful.
Verdict: Very nice coverage. Works great on both types of paper.

Overall, my favorite ink pads were the VersaMagic as they come in so many different colors and work well on both the papers.

Now, because you have been so patient through all of my babbling (I hope you come away with something good out of this), I have a giveaway.
I will choose a random winner who will receive one of each of the inks that I used, a pack of Black Magic Core'dinations paper and a Cosmo Cricket Blackboard album.
All you have to do is leave a comment on this post telling me some products that you would like to learn more information about, and on Wednesday evening (the 6th of July) I will choose a winner.
Please feel free to leave feedback on whether this post was helpful or not!

  1. Perfect DoBea. I have some of the VersaMagic and I really like it but I have been curious about some of the other ones out there. I really love these kinds of posts. The visuals were just right too. I also love to see new stamping techniques. I have loved paper crafts for as long as I can remember but I LOVE to see new and different techniques. Thanks for taking the time to share this review, I enjoyed it. Hugs- Glora
