Market Street January Release Blog Hop

A happy hello to you all on this wonderful night! If you made it here from the Market Street Blog you are in the right place. If not, start out on the blog here  and I will see you again in just a bit. Welcome to the Market Street Stamps January Release and Design Team Celebration Blog Hop. The projects you will see along the way are Designer's Choice, so they might not necessarily all be using the new sets. This month kicks off Market Street's journey of monthly releases. Angelica will be releasing new sets on the last Friday of every month, and the design team and guest designer of that month will be doing sneak peeks leading up to that day. She will also be adding some VersaMagic Dew Drop inks to the store . Now, on to my project! The card I am sharing with you tonight is made with the brand new set Celebrate Cake. This set has a lot of amazing elements to give you such a variety in what you can make. I stamped the images using Momento Ink and drew on the stripes using my C

It all starts at 7 p.m. over at the Market Street Stamps Blog and then the stamps will be released at midnight. Market Street Sneak Peek!!

Hello, all! So glad you could make it for this month's Market Street Stamps Sneak Peek. I had so much fun making this card. Angelica is so talented and it is such a pleasure to use her stamps. I made the background using Ranger's Alcohol Inks. This is my most favorite technique ever. I can sit down and make these backgrounds for hours, working with all of the different colors and variations. There are several tutorials out there, but if anyone is interested let me know and I can do a video. This stamp worked perfectly to put on the background. I then layered a couple of ribbons for some texture, and added the button to finish of the card. I can't wait for you to see the rest of the sneaks! Make sure you stop by the Market Street Stamps blog often for updates and directions on where to go next, and the other fabulous ladies from the design team's blogs (they are listed over on the right hand side) to see the amazing projects that they have made using the stamps that are

SWAK!!! For Market Street Stamps

Hello, how are you all doing today? I have a technique that I would like to share with you today. This has been around awhile, but for you newbies, and some not so newbies, I thought that I could show you it using a couple of the wonderful Market Street backgrounds. This technique is called kissing. There are several ways that you can do this, depending on the stamps you are using. Since I am using Perfectly Pretty Grid and Here Comes the Sun , which are 4.25" by 5.5" each, I will only be using one block (I only have one big enough to fit them on.) 1. I first put Perfectly Pretty Grid on the block, then layed Here Comes the Sun on the table. 2. I inked up Here Comes the Sun really good with Ranger Distress Inks, because they stay wet a little longer than other ink pads. 3. I then, very carefully face to face, layed Perfectly Pretty Grid on top of Here Comes the Sun. The stamps will slid against each other when they are nice and juicy, so you've got t

Family Forever

Hello, ladies! Sorry I have been MIA. I have not been feeling the crafting bug lately, but I think it is starting to turn around for me. I have a new project, and it's not like any other one I have done in awhile. I bought this plaque, wall-hanging thingy at Home Depot months ago. I painted it shortly after I brought it home, and then it just sat a a shelf for a really long time. I am in the process of doing a deep cleaning in my scrap room and I came across this and decided that I just had to do something with it. I used some sand paper to distress it, then used my Home Accents Cricut cartridge to cut out the flourishes. The paper that I cut it out from is My Mind's Eye's Lost and Found Portobello Road Family collection. I was really drawn to the colors in this line and had a hard time cutting them, but what is a girl to do? I bought the paper for a reason, so, I finally mustered up the courage to do it. The Family Forever label is also from that same line. I used Mod Podg

December kit layouts

Here are a couple more layouts that I made using my December kit. I have a couple more things to show you, but my flash batteries need to charge before I can do that. All of the patterned paper is by Echo Park. For my Christmas albums, I really try to keep all of my pages simple. I usually have so many pictures and I would rather not detract from them. I don't really use any kind of techniques, either. But, when the album is all put together, I just seems better that way, at least to me. For this layout, the title letters are also from Echo Park, the buttons were in my stash and the ribbon is from Maya Road. In this next layout  the title is made of Thickers from American Crafts, the mini Kraft bag is from Scrap Within Reach, the flowers and bauble are from Making Memories, the red ribbon is from Maya Road and the brown ribbon is from American Crafts. Here is a close up of the mini kraft bag. What I did was make a little tag to go inside of it that listed the type of cookies that w

You and Me

First things first, I did not hear back from ShawnfromMN, so I have gone to random.org and the new winner of Robo Love from Market Street Stamps is: Vanessa Yay, for Vanessa! If you could email me at albertsdob@gmail.com I can get your stamp off you you!!! Next, here is a brand new card that I made using Bit of Burlap and Of the Same Tree . I love how this came out! I also used my Copic markers and did a watercolor technique. How I did that was, I colored the stamp with G99 for the leaves and E47 for the trunk. I then used a MiniMister filled with Colorless Blender and spritzed it a couple times, then quickly stamped onto the paper. I love, love, love how the colors in the markers shifted and blended. Even though it was a pain in the rear to clean the stamp off (using the Colorless Blender in the Minimister), I am amazed with the results. Of the Same Tree is the perfect kind of stamp to do this technique. It helps to have more of a solid stamp for the spritz to really move the
