December kit layouts

Here are a couple more layouts that I made using my December kit. I have a couple more things to show you, but my flash batteries need to charge before I can do that. All of the patterned paper is by Echo Park. For my Christmas albums, I really try to keep all of my pages simple. I usually have so many pictures and I would rather not detract from them. I don't really use any kind of techniques, either. But, when the album is all put together, I just seems better that way, at least to me. For this layout, the title letters are also from Echo Park, the buttons were in my stash and the ribbon is from Maya Road. In this next layout  the title is made of Thickers from American Crafts, the mini Kraft bag is from Scrap Within Reach, the flowers and bauble are from Making Memories, the red ribbon is from Maya Road and the brown ribbon is from American Crafts. Here is a close up of the mini kraft bag. What I did was make a little tag to go inside of it that listed the type of cookies t...

Family Love Layout

Here is one of the layouts that I did for my Basic Layout Class this week. I tried to make it super simple, but still pretty. I used an older paper line from Sassafras Lass. I think it was called Life is Beautiful. I also used a mini kraft bag from Scrap Within Reach and a piece of paper from Kaisercraft, but can't remember the name for it (I used it for the title.) I may end up adding some flowers to it if I can find the right paper to go with. It is very hard for us to family picture where everyone is acting "normal", but this was the closest I could get. And, of course, the girls are pro posers, so getting ones of them without goofy faces is almost impossible! ;)

Spooky Fun!

Hello, Ladies! I am back with a layout. I know I havn't done one for a while, so here it goes. This is one that I made for a display in the store. Like I have said before, I completely love Halloween! This layout was made using the Blackbird collection from My Minds Eye. I know I have been using that company a lot lately, but I have been infatuated with all of their lines lately. I have come to the conclusion that I need to start journaling more. I've known that I needed to start doing it, but the thought absolutely frightens me. Do you have problems journaling at all? I don't really know what the problem is, but it might have to do with the fact that someday, a future grandchild might pick up one of those books and say to their mom, "What the heck was Grandma DoBea talking about?" I tend to get lost in what I am trying to say most of the time, and it is no different when I am speaking out loud. My words end up getting jumbled with thoughts, and then it all gets m...

Another Sketch...

This time for Crate Paper. I really like their paper, so far each line has been very unique. A lot of times you see companies start to put out lines that you swear you have seen before and then realize they had already done something very similar. So far, I have not seen Crate Paper do that. Well, this layout is very simple and kind of understated, but that is the way I wanted it. Something clean just seemed like the right thing for the Fresh Water Fish Hall of Fame. (I know you are thinking that I am the luckiest girl in the world right now. WOW!! She got to go there for vacation!) Well, hope you enjoy.

Sweet!

Here is another layout done before I went to bed last night. This is also from My Mind's Eye So Sophie collection. This one I did for there Thursday sketch challenge. Again, more pictures of Abby at The Old Mill. I really need to get some pictures of Brianna taken, but she really hates to model for me. I will have to try to twist her arm. Enjoy your day, and hopefully I will have more to post soon!

Finally!!

Ok, I am back. I know it has been awhile, but been soooo busy with work, vacations, getting the kids ready for school, etc., etc. Here is a layout I did using the My Mind's Eyes So Sophie collection. So happy with it! Totally love making the paper flowers. I know I watched a video somewhere teaching how to make them, but can't for the life of me remember where. The picture was taken this spring while visiting friends. The girls and I had gone to The Old Mill. It will always be one of my favorite places to take pictures. And Abby is always the poser and perfect model. She was made for the runway. Now I am off to do some more work. I have a list longer than Santa's to get done. Hope you enjoy the layout!!

Echo Park

Here are two cards and a layout I made using the Summertime line from a new company Echo Park. I can't wait to see what else they come out with. Hope you enjoy!
