Today's prompt is "Sketch from a Card."   Pam asked me to make a card, and her goal was to show you how easy is is to take inspiration from it and draw a sketch. This card is pretty basic. I took a couple of coordinating patterned papers and found a layering situation that just felt right.  I wanted to incorporate the small scalloped pattern that is in the top most paper, so I used my border punch to emulate that. I wanted the SHINE part of the sentiment to stand out, so I literally made it shine using Glossy Accents. The flower was cut from a piece of ribbon to make an embellishment, I just chose to spray it with some mists to make it match the rest of the card. I hope you all enjoy yo...

Hello everyone! I hope you all are having a glorious day. Our forecast for today was thunderstorms all day long, but so far they have completely missed us and we have had gorgeous skies above. I've been on Facebook lately, and I have been hearing all this talk about a new paper company, Authentique Paper. So I went over to check out their Facebook page, and come to find out that this is where Miss Margie Romney-Aslett has gone.  I had been very sad when I heard that The Girl's Paperie was not going to be any longer, as I was a huge fan. Now, come to find out that she is part of this new venture, my world has brightened up just a wee bit. I found out that people were finding their new lines at Archivers, so I hopped in my car as soon as I could, and bought just about one of everything in the 3 lines that they had there. {The hubby may be a little shocked once he sees that bill come in!} As soon as I got home I had to play with my new toys! Hello all!! Hope your week is going great so far. Mine has been busy, busy, busy. We are having some gorgeous weather here in the midwest finally.  Here is a card I made using some Market Street Stamps . Have I mentioned to you at all how much I LOVE these stamps? I just can't get enough of them.  I have been really trying to use some products that I haven't touched in awhile, so on this card I decided to use my Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam. The color is Dirty Martini, but for some reason, when I took the picture, the color seems to be really off. I promise all the shades of green match in real life, but the picture makes them look mismatched. I also was not able to find the ribbon that I wanted to use, so instead I ripped off a piece of fabric in place of the ribbon. I thought it turned out pretty good. I especially love the distressed look of it.  At first I thought that it might be a little too plain, but anything I thought that I might put on there just made it too c...

Can you believe it? I finally have bought my very first Spellbinders Nestibilities!! I have been hemming and hahing over getting one for the last year, and I finally got up the nerve to just do it. So, I bought Labels 1 and I am absolutely loving it. I am a pretty weird person, but I have had my Cuttlebug for over a year, and I had never used a die in it. I have only used embossing folders because I didn't want to ruin my perfectly non-marred B plate. But now, I have finally used it for cutting and I won't be able to stop! {I will be buying another B plate so that I will have some fresh ones for embossing.} So, for this card, I had soooo much fun. I used some Canvas Crop Corrugated Paper and distressed it, then sprayed the base of the card with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. I used Cosmo Cricket's Odds & Ends patterned paper {LOVE IT} with my Labels 1, and then also cut out the quotes from another piece from Odds & Ends. It turned out great, and I am very proud of it...

Thought I would share this super cute layout I did of my nephew. He is just about the cutest thing out there! He is always talking with such a big vocabulary, and sounds like a mini grown up. I went shopping with him and my sister the other day, and I was yabbering at him like crazy, arguing with him about everything he was telling me. For example, we were going through the makeup aisle and he asked me what something was {can't remember exactly what it was} and I told him it was for girls and asked him if he would like one. He said, "No, I'm not a girl!" And I continued to ask him what he was then. "Are you a puppy? A kitty? A monkey? A goose?" I asked him about 10 things, then he finally got sick of it and said, "I'M A BOY!!!" Of course, I told him I didn't believe him. We went to the next aisle without saying anything else and just as we were stopping to get a hand soap refill, he looked at me and said, "I love my daddy more than you...

Hello, all! I hope you are having a wonderful day. Today, I am bringing you a card using Blast Off from Market Street Stamps . This set is so adorable and fun to use. I, myself do not have the pleasure of having any boys, but I do have some nephews who I know will totally enjoy anything I make with this set. For the background I used, of course, one of my favorite techniques, blending, using Distress Inks. The colors I used were Tumbled Glass, Weathered Wood, Faded Jeans, Broken China and Black Soot. After it was nice and blended I took my Marshmallow Glimmer Mist and sprayed it across the background to give it the Milky Way look. I then stamped and cut out the stars and outlined them. For the rocket, I used my Copic markers and added some sparkle to the flames with an orange Spica pen. I hope you enjoy!!! I have some very exciting news to share with you today! I have joined another wonderful design team!! Here is a page that was done at the Extravaganza. The paper is from Bo Bunny Mama-razzi line. The black script tape is from 7 Gypsies, and the pin is from Maya Road. The letters are a mix from Cosmo Cricket and Scenic Route. I painted the letters with Tattered Angels' Glimmer Glam. I have become obsessed with this stuff. Just the right amount of shimmer, gloss and glitter. PERFECT!!! I love this paper, the colors and just what it represents. I am a mom who is constantly taking pictures and who's daughters have become my celebrities. This particular layout is of my husband and I's 10 year wedding anniversary. We took a long weekend trip up to Door County. It is a completely gorgeous place to go. There are little shops around every corner, beautiful scenery at any view, and just peace and calm around you. I love it there!

Here is a card I recently made for a swap. The idea was to use a brown paper bag, and the theme was fall. The supplies I used are as follows: Unity Stamps' Simple Blessings, Tattered Angel's Sugar Maple Glimmer Mist, Tim Holtz distress inks in Rusty Hinge, Walunt Stain, and Vintage Photo, Tom Holtz Distress Stickles in Antique Bronze, and Tim Holtz Distress Embossing Powder in Walnut Stain. I really liked how this card turned out even though it is a little plain. Hope you enjoy!

Halloween happens to be my favorite holiday. I just can't ever seem to get enough decorations, ideas, paper, embellishments, or just plain ol' anything that has to do with that particular day. I think my love of it stems from the thought of being able to act and feel like a kid again, knowing that those days are long gone and adulthood is fully upon me. Watching as my kids have so much fun makes it all the better. The feel of the pumpkin guts, the smell of fall, all the candy and the general feeling can't be replaced. And, I guess it all brings memories back of my dad decking out the back of his truck with hay bales and driving us down the country roads to get our little treats. Here is a project I have been working on for a few days. Kept making tweaks here and there, trying to get it right, and I think I finally have it.
