Pure Joy!!

Hello all!! Hope your week is going great so far. Mine has been busy, busy, busy. We are having some gorgeous weather here in the midwest finally.  Here is a card I made using some Market Street Stamps . Have I mentioned to you at all how much I LOVE these stamps? I just can't get enough of them.  I have been really trying to use some products that I haven't touched in awhile, so on this card I decided to use my Tattered Angels Glimmer Glam. The color is Dirty Martini, but for some reason, when I took the picture, the color seems to be really off. I promise all the shades of green match in real life, but the picture makes them look mismatched. I also was not able to find the ribbon that I wanted to use, so instead I ripped off a piece of fabric in place of the ribbon. I thought it turned out pretty good. I especially love the distressed look of it.  At first I thought that it might be a little too plain, but anything I thought that I might put on there just made it too c...

Baby Brag Book 2!!

Here is another baby brag book I made. This one was for a close friend who already knew the sex and name of the baby. I added the initials of the baby on the front and a couple of prompts for the type of pictures to be put in, but left most of the pages for anything that they wanted. I didn't use a whole lot of embellishments for this one, except for some bling, acetate shapes, paper, flowers and rub-ons. Hope you enjoyed!!!   Project Recipe Patterned Paper: My Mind's Eye Rub-ons: Basic Grey Acetate Shapes: My Mind's Eye Ribbon: unknown Bling: unknown Paper Flowers: Close to My Heart

Baby Brag Book!!

This is a baby brag book that I made a couple of years ago for my cousin and his wife. I always meant to post it, but never got around to it. I used Bo Bunny's 6x6 Bare Naked Binder and My Mind's Eye Paper and embellishments. At the same time as this, I also made 6 other versions of these for various people. {Something had to have been in the water, as they were all due within a month of each other, and not all of them knew each other either.}  I think that the pictures may be pretty self explanatory, but if you have any questions at all, please let me know. I used a super strong adhesive to glue the paper to the chipboard very near to the edges. I also did all of my stapling of the ribbon to the pages before I glued them down, as getting them pulled back up is extremely hard to do without ripping the paper. {Learned that from experience!} Once all the pages were glued down, I sanded around all of the edges. I thought that gave it a better look.  I also wrapped ribb...

Tissue Paper Flowers

Hello! I want to share with you today, this card that I made while away at the scrapbook weekend I recently went to. I am obsessed with putting flowers on things, and came up with this tissue paper one. I had a lot of fun making it, and in the following pictures, I will explain the process that I went through. The supplies that you will need are: 1 sheet of regular tissue paper {that you use for gift wrapping} a 2 1/4 inch scalloped punch {my punches are EK Success} a 2 inch scalloped punch a paper piercer a brad some sort of misting spray and a craft sheet {mine is a Ranger one}  1. First you want to accordion fold your piece of tissue paper. I made my folds about 2 1/2 inches wide.  2. Then you want to fold over an end of the accordion folded tissue inwards about 2 1/2 inches.  3. I then slid the tissue paper into my punch and punched it. When I was through with the bigger punch, I cut off the end and folded it over again in order to pun...

Family Forever

Hello, ladies! Sorry I have been MIA. I have not been feeling the crafting bug lately, but I think it is starting to turn around for me. I have a new project, and it's not like any other one I have done in awhile. I bought this plaque, wall-hanging thingy at Home Depot months ago. I painted it shortly after I brought it home, and then it just sat a a shelf for a really long time. I am in the process of doing a deep cleaning in my scrap room and I came across this and decided that I just had to do something with it. I used some sand paper to distress it, then used my Home Accents Cricut cartridge to cut out the flourishes. The paper that I cut it out from is My Mind's Eye's Lost and Found Portobello Road Family collection. I was really drawn to the colors in this line and had a hard time cutting them, but what is a girl to do? I bought the paper for a reason, so, I finally mustered up the courage to do it. The Family Forever label is also from that same line. I used Mod Podg...

Busy, Busy!

I have been beyond busy this week, and I cannot yet see the light at the end of the tunnel. I have cleaning, baking and crafting yet to get done, all before this weekend. We have my family coming to our house on Friday. I love to host, but at the same time, I know I over stress myself with things. Yay, for the holidays!! ;) Anyways, here are some of the things that I have been working on. Mostly baking, but there were a few crafty things in there, including this card using a Market Street stamp . I used the Computer Cutie set for this card, along with some My Mind's Eye paper. This little computer is completely adorable! The girls did the decorating, while I did the baking. Brianna usually gets bored pretty fast when decorating, while Abby can go all day until she can no longer move because of the build up of frosting all over her body. The Peanut Butter Cup Cookies are a must for Abby. I think that they are the thing she looks forward to most this time of year. I don't kno...

The New Boo

I have recreated my Boo project. It was really getting on my nerves that it wasn't as stable as I would have liked, so remade it using the wooden blocks. (And of course making another Halloween decoration never bothers me!) I like this one a lot more, though I don't have the stamping and stickles that I have on the other one. Let me know which one you prefer.

Spooky Fun!

Hello, Ladies! I am back with a layout. I know I havn't done one for a while, so here it goes. This is one that I made for a display in the store. Like I have said before, I completely love Halloween! This layout was made using the Blackbird collection from My Minds Eye. I know I have been using that company a lot lately, but I have been infatuated with all of their lines lately. I have come to the conclusion that I need to start journaling more. I've known that I needed to start doing it, but the thought absolutely frightens me. Do you have problems journaling at all? I don't really know what the problem is, but it might have to do with the fact that someday, a future grandchild might pick up one of those books and say to their mom, "What the heck was Grandma DoBea talking about?" I tend to get lost in what I am trying to say most of the time, and it is no different when I am speaking out loud. My words end up getting jumbled with thoughts, and then it all gets m...

Christmas Giftcard Cards

Here are 4 giftcard cards that I made using My Minds Eye Holly Jolly line. I think they turned out pretty good, if I do say so myself. I got the ideas for these cards from a card swap that happened at the store last month, and a couple were pretty ingenious, i thought. Let me know if you want any details on them at all. They were super fun to make and I plan on using them often, whether for Christmas or birthdays. i took one picture of the outside and one with it open so you can see where the gift cards would go.

Haunted

Halloween happens to be my favorite holiday. I just can't ever seem to get enough decorations, ideas, paper, embellishments, or just plain ol' anything that has to do with that particular day. I think my love of it stems from the thought of being able to act and feel like a kid again, knowing that those days are long gone and adulthood is fully upon me. Watching as my kids have so much fun makes it all the better. The feel of the pumpkin guts, the smell of fall, all the candy and the general feeling can't be replaced. And, I guess it all brings memories back of my dad decking out the back of his truck with hay bales and driving us down the country roads to get our little treats. Here is a project I have been working on for a few days. Kept making tweaks here and there, trying to get it right, and I think I finally have it. I used the Haunted line from My Minds Eye for the paper and decorative brads, stamp sets from My Minds Eye and Tattered Angels, Marshmallow mist from Ta...
