Hello! Long time no see!! Our household has been busy as bees with school and activities starting around here. Hope you all are enjoying this beginning of fall! It happens to be my favorite time of year. Here is a card that I made for the current Market Street Stamps Paint the Town color challenge {formerly known at Color Cue.} And here is the color prompt: I am having so much fun with August's release. {Have I mentioned yet that I love fall?} If you do too, you need to head on over here and check out their stamps. They also have a beautiful sympathy set called Comforting Florals , which is what I used today.

Today's prompt is "Sketch from a Card."   Pam asked me to make a card, and her goal was to show you how easy is is to take inspiration from it and draw a sketch. This card is pretty basic. I took a couple of coordinating patterned papers and found a layering situation that just felt right.  I wanted to incorporate the small scalloped pattern that is in the top most paper, so I used my border punch to emulate that. I wanted the SHINE part of the sentiment to stand out, so I literally made it shine using Glossy Accents. The flower was cut from a piece of ribbon to make an embellishment, I just chose to spray it with some mists to make it match the rest of the card. I hope you all enjoy yo...

Can you believe it? I finally have bought my very first Spellbinders Nestibilities!! I have been hemming and hahing over getting one for the last year, and I finally got up the nerve to just do it. So, I bought Labels 1 and I am absolutely loving it. I am a pretty weird person, but I have had my Cuttlebug for over a year, and I had never used a die in it. I have only used embossing folders because I didn't want to ruin my perfectly non-marred B plate. But now, I have finally used it for cutting and I won't be able to stop! {I will be buying another B plate so that I will have some fresh ones for embossing.} So, for this card, I had soooo much fun. I used some Canvas Crop Corrugated Paper and distressed it, then sprayed the base of the card with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. I used Cosmo Cricket's Odds & Ends patterned paper {LOVE IT} with my Labels 1, and then also cut out the quotes from another piece from Odds & Ends. It turned out great, and I am very proud of it...

Even though I saw them just a month ago, it's a real treat for us to see them more than once a year, them living in the south and all.  Today's card was made for the Market Street Stamps Color Cue Challenge 3 . I may end up putting some wall hangers on the back and hanging it up in my front foyer though! I bought the tray from Hobby Lobby. I painted it with some Americana paint, which went on more like a stain, which I really liked. I then lined it with some patterned paper from Crate Paper. Love is in the air! Can you feel it? I love Valentines season, there is so much pink and red in all of the stores and people get so crafty with making handmade cards, flowers, cookie and such. You can almost taste Spring in the air, hoping that it comes early this year. Can you hear the little chirps in the background? Yeah, me neither. I live in the frigidly cold upper Midwest where we are barely to spring before the official Summer is supposed to start. ;) This card has to be one of my favorites lately. Even though I have two girls, I am not a huge lover of pink, except at this time of year. GASP!!! I know, right? So, I thought just little pieces of it would work perfectly. For the background I used the Hearts A Plenty stamp, and then used the So Happy set for the flower and sentiment, both from Market Street Stamps . You might have noticed, or maybe not, but I use craft paper, a lot. I also have had the obsession with canvas and pins. But, we can talk about those issue...

Hello, ladies! I am very happy to finally post something that I have made lately, that hasn't been required for something. I should be working on things that I do need to get done, but had an idea  i just had to go with. For this card I used the Hearts A Plenty background stamp from Market Street Stamps. I stamped it with VersaMark ink then used clear embossing powder over it. Next, I used my Fired Brick and Vintage Photo Distress Inks to blend over the embossed background, then used the Vintage Photo to ditress ink the edges a little more. I used the Unity Heart Journaling stamp for the heart with Vintage Photo again. The flowers I made with ribbon I had on hand. The red, I cannot remember where it came from, and the cream is from Maya Road. The pins I received in a monthly kit at some point and the leaves are from Prima. Here are a couple more layouts that I made using my December kit. I have a couple more things to show you, but my flash batteries need to charge before I can do that. All of the patterned paper is by Echo Park. For my Christmas albums, I really try to keep all of my pages simple. I usually have so many pictures and I would rather not detract from them. I don't really use any kind of techniques, either. But, when the album is all put together, I just seems better that way, at least to me. For this layout, the title letters are also from Echo Park, the buttons were in my stash and the ribbon is from Maya Road. In this next layout  the title is made of Thickers from American Crafts, the mini Kraft bag is from Scrap Within Reach, the flowers and bauble are from Making Memories, the red ribbon is from Maya Road and the brown ribbon is from American Crafts. Here is a layout I did using the December kit I made up for myself. Normally, I make an entire album of Christmas layouts for the year, and I plan on still doing that, but I never usually make one for the girls albums. The paper, I thought, would be perfect for me to start doing that. Everything that I used on the layout was in the kitexcept for the gold ribbin through the button. I used the Winter Woodland Cricut cartridge for the snowflake and I doodled around the two smaller pictures.

Here is a page that was done at the Extravaganza. The paper is from Bo Bunny Mama-razzi line. The black script tape is from 7 Gypsies, and the pin is from Maya Road. The letters are a mix from Cosmo Cricket and Scenic Route. I painted the letters with Tattered Angels' Glimmer Glam. I have become obsessed with this stuff. Just the right amount of shimmer, gloss and glitter. PERFECT!!! I love this paper, the colors and just what it represents. I am a mom who is constantly taking pictures and who's daughters have become my celebrities. This particular layout is of my husband and I's 10 year wedding anniversary. We took a long weekend trip up to Door County. It is a completely gorgeous place to go. There are little shops around every corner, beautiful scenery at any view, and just peace and calm around you. I love it there!
