Wishing You a Wonderful Day!!

Here is today's card for the 365 Cards Challenge. The prompt for today is:  to use 5 layers on your card, anyway you want to. I used one of the 6x6 paper pads from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found 2: Rosy for all of the patterned paper. The scalloped circles are punched using an EK Success 2" punch and the circles are punched using Paper Shapers 1 1/4" punch. The sentiment is from a Stampin' Up stamp set called "Bring on the Cake" and the buttons are from my button stash. The twine is American Crafts. Hope you all enjoy World Card Making Day today!

Hey Pumpkin!!

Hello all! Tonight is the first night of sneak peeks for Market Street Stamps . And, of course, as always, they are absolutely fabulous!! I have two cards to share with you. Hope you love them as much as I loved making them!!! Head on over to the Market Street Stamps blog to check out some more amazing sneaks, and I will be back tomorrow with more sneaks!!

Lighters: Song Inspired

Today's Saturday Challenge prompt over at 365 Cards is:  What's at the top of your playlist right now?  Pick a favorite go to song  and let that inspire your card.  The song that is currently my favorite is Lighters by Bad Meets Evil featuring Bruno Mars.  Though Eminem is often controversial, I love the core message of this song. Don't give up on your dreams, even when everyone else doesn't believe in them, because if you still believe, they will come true. Life's too short to be who everyone else wants you to be, be who you want to be. And if you are not sure what 365 Cards is, it is a blog that gives you a new card challenge every day of the year !!! So if you are in need of some crafty inspiration or just want to check out how others are working the challenges, this is the place to go!

My Thoughts and Prayers

Hello! Long time no see!! Our household has been busy as bees with school and activities starting around here. Hope you all are enjoying this beginning of fall! It happens to be my favorite time of year. Here is a card that I made for the current Market Street Stamps Paint the Town color challenge {formerly known at Color Cue.} And here is the color prompt: I am having so much fun with August's release. {Have I mentioned yet that I love fall?} If you do too, you need to head on over here and check out their stamps. They also have a beautiful sympathy set called Comforting Florals , which is what I used today.

Market Street Sketch Challenge 3!!

Hello! So happy you could join me today!! I have my card inspiration for the Market Street Stamps Card Challenge . Along with the sketch there was an added challenge of using a spray mist. The first thing I did was stamp Vintage Notepad using VersaMark onto my white cardstock. I then covered it with clear embossing powder and heated it with my heat gun.  Next, I used October Afternoon's Sprinklers in Lemon Drop and Strawberry and alternated spraying them over the card base. The embossed image works as a resist, and you get a great look! The label is a die cut from Nestabilities Label One onto Bazzill's embossed cardstock, Peek-a-Boo Leaves in white. I then used a yellow ink pad to rub over the raised part of the embossed paper to make it pop a little more.  The rest is self explanatory, or at least I hope so. If you have any questions, please don't be afraid to ask.  Hope you enjoyed today's card!!! Card Recipe Stamps: Market Street Stamps {Vintage Notepad, Celebrate...

Can You Believe It??

Can you believe it? I finally have bought my very first Spellbinders Nestibilities!! I have been hemming and hahing over getting one for the last year, and I finally got up the nerve to just do it. So, I bought Labels 1 and I am absolutely loving it. I am a pretty weird person, but I have had my Cuttlebug for over a year, and I had never used a die in it. I have only used embossing folders because I didn't want to ruin my perfectly non-marred B plate. But now, I have finally used it for cutting and I won't be able to stop! {I will be buying another B plate so that I will have some fresh ones for embossing.} So, for this card, I had soooo much fun. I used some Canvas Crop Corrugated Paper and distressed it, then sprayed the base of the card with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist. I used Cosmo Cricket's Odds & Ends patterned paper {LOVE IT} with my Labels 1, and then also cut out the quotes from another piece from Odds & Ends. It turned out great, and I am very proud of it...

School's Out for Summer Blog Hop!!

What do you look most forward to for summer? Me, I love the time I get to spend with my girls. I love the fact that we can pick up and do just about whatever we want with only a few time constraints. Want to sleep in? We can do that. Want to go to the zoo? We can do that. Want to run through the sprinkler? Well, they can do that while I take pictures. Welcome to the School's Out for Summer Blog Hop!! I hope you have made it safely from Sarah . My project for today is a layout of one of our yearly day trips to a local attraction. They have all sorts of rides for all ages, and this year they added their first roller coaster. The layout recipe will be found at the end of the post. Your next stop on the hop brings you over to Kristin . Market Street Color Cue Challenge 3!!

Hope you are all having a wonderful week so far! I have been busy trying to get things done around the house before some friends get here tomorrow!! Even though I saw them just a month ago, it's a real treat for us to see them more than once a year, them living in the south and all.  Today's card was made for the Market Street Stamps Color Cue Challenge 3 . If you haven't yet entered a project for one of the challenges, this is a great chance for you to win one of their stamp sets. I know, at least for me, that trying out a new stamp maker is kind of a leap of faith, not knowing about the quality and all, but they truly do have the best quality photo-polymer stamps out there. If I had the means to send you all one of their stamps to try out, I would, because I love them that much!! I don't know if this holds any sway with you or not, but they are manufactured by the same people who bring you Peachy Keen Stamps {Kathy is actually Angelica's mom}, and I KNOW how much ...

Out of this World!!

Thought I would share this super cute layout I did of my nephew. He is just about the cutest thing out there! He is always talking with such a big vocabulary, and sounds like a mini grown up. I went shopping with him and my sister the other day, and I was yabbering at him like crazy, arguing with him about everything he was telling me. For example, we were going through the makeup aisle and he asked me what something was {can't remember exactly what it was} and I told him it was for girls and asked him if he would like one. He said, "No, I'm not a girl!" And I continued to ask him what he was then. "Are you a puppy? A kitty? A monkey? A goose?" I asked him about 10 things, then he finally got sick of it and said, "I'M A BOY!!!" Of course, I told him I didn't believe him. We went to the next aisle without saying anything else and just as we were stopping to get a hand soap refill, he looked at me and said, "I love my daddy more than you...

Think Spring Blog Hop!!

Hello and welcome to your next stop on the Think Spring Blog Hop! You should have come from Amanda's blog. If you are just joining us or have gotten lost along the way, please look a the complete list below of all the stops. I can't believe that Spring is upon us already! It seems like winter was just starting {and here where I live it still feels that way} a few days ago, and we were all so caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holidays. One of the things I love most about Spring is the feeling of starting out fresh again! Fresh air, new blooms, spring cleaning, and that renewed energy that comes along with it all. So, in order to start my spring, I thought I might "clean" out some picture albums and get them scrapped. These pictures were taken in 2007! ;O The pictures are very neutral with a hint of pink in them, so I chose some very springy papers and embellishments. My project recipe will be at the bottom of the post in case you are wondering where some of th...

It WILL Get Better!!

Hello, all! I am happy to report that I think I am off of my Debbie Downer slump for the time being. I'm so excited to the kids to get home from school so we can go for a walk. I have been looking forward to it since I woke up this morning! I have been a busy little bee, getting posts ready for this week {I have a full week of them, and I see no end in sight! Is that a good thing or a bad thing? You tell me.} I went made my daily trek to Archivers this morning. {Well, almost daily. They have new stuff coming out of their ears just about each day.} One of my new favorite things that I picked up while I was there {which I got to play with at CHA and couldn't wait til they showed up in the stores} is the new Tim Holtz Distress Stains. I know, I have an over abundance of love for all things Tim Holtz, but these really are the bomb-diggity!! For the card below, I used the Weathered Wood Distress Stain on the lace ribbon. Didn't it turn out beautifully? I made this card to link u...

December kit layouts

Here are a couple more layouts that I made using my December kit. I have a couple more things to show you, but my flash batteries need to charge before I can do that. All of the patterned paper is by Echo Park. For my Christmas albums, I really try to keep all of my pages simple. I usually have so many pictures and I would rather not detract from them. I don't really use any kind of techniques, either. But, when the album is all put together, I just seems better that way, at least to me. For this layout, the title letters are also from Echo Park, the buttons were in my stash and the ribbon is from Maya Road. In this next layout  the title is made of Thickers from American Crafts, the mini Kraft bag is from Scrap Within Reach, the flowers and bauble are from Making Memories, the red ribbon is from Maya Road and the brown ribbon is from American Crafts. Here is a close up of the mini kraft bag. What I did was make a little tag to go inside of it that listed the type of cookies t...

Birthday Wishes

Hello, everyone! I hope everyone had a great weekend, I know I did. I went to my first hockey game with the hubby and friends. I absolutely loved it! I can never really seem to get into sports by watching them on the TV, but when I get to go watch them live, I always have such fun. On Friday evening, I am going to post my first tutorial. I will be making the baby brag book. This is one of the classes that I taught at extravaganza, and a lot of people had a hard time putting the book together by me just explaining it, so I decided I will show you. I know that I pick up things much better as I watch and do, rather than listening. OK, here is another layout I made with one of the kits I received at extravaganza. This one is from Fancy Pants featuring their It's Your Day collection. I had brought pictures and different paper to scrap my youngest daughter's 9th birthday, but I ended up really liking this kit, so I used it instead. Everything I used is from Fancy Pants except f...

Haunted

Halloween happens to be my favorite holiday. I just can't ever seem to get enough decorations, ideas, paper, embellishments, or just plain ol' anything that has to do with that particular day. I think my love of it stems from the thought of being able to act and feel like a kid again, knowing that those days are long gone and adulthood is fully upon me. Watching as my kids have so much fun makes it all the better. The feel of the pumpkin guts, the smell of fall, all the candy and the general feeling can't be replaced. And, I guess it all brings memories back of my dad decking out the back of his truck with hay bales and driving us down the country roads to get our little treats. Here is a project I have been working on for a few days. Kept making tweaks here and there, trying to get it right, and I think I finally have it. I used the Haunted line from My Minds Eye for the paper and decorative brads, stamp sets from My Minds Eye and Tattered Angels, Marshmallow mist from Ta...
